Description
The Engineer is the final boss of Chapter II of the The Awakened Invasion, debuting on Wave 20 of Halloween II. He has many lethal abilities, both single-target and AOE, and his signature ability, Somatic Shock, kills any aerial towers in its vicinity, making him a dangerous foe to deal with.
Upon being defeated, the Engineer will let out either a voice line or grunting noises before falling to his knees and hitting the ground.
Appearance
The Engineer is an extremely large cyborg, on par with the Exo Santa in size. He wears a dull maroon cowl that also covers his left arm. The Engineer has exposed, veiny flesh on his face and hands, but is mostly composed of mechanical implants, such as a mask and optic. Multiple purple tubes run through his body from his rear mounted tank, connecting to his skeletal armor and arms with purple glowing accents. His left hand has a machine gun barrel built into it to shoot towers, his right arm is metallic with three digits, and the inside of his chest plate houses a black ribcage.

Strategy
- Several upgraded late-game towers like Juggernaut or Railgunner should be sufficient to defeat the Engineer.
- Towers with long range are more recommended as they can stay away from his abilities as well as take care of the Nail Golem spawning further on the track.
- A 5-2 Medic can negate Focus Fire with ease, causing the Engineer to stall and waste his ability.
- It is recommended to move all Helicopters away from the Engineer when he starts to use Somatic Shock.
- Using Pursuit Mode is not recommended as it makes it more likely for the Helicopters to be in his vicinity when Somatic Shock‘s chargeup is complete.
- The speed boost should also be turned off to give Helicopters more time to move away.
- When using X-5 Helicopters, it is recommended not to use other mechanical towers like XWM Turret as that causes the Engineer to use Somatic Shock anyway, effectively nullifying their stealth.
- They should also be a fair distance away from the Engineer to avoid being unstealthed by Suffocating Smog.
Trivia
- The Engineer and his counterpart that appears in Nightmare Mode are the first enemies to have a map-reliant ability.
- Though, this could be partly due to them being only being encounterable on one map.
- The Engineer's design is likely based off of the members of the Adeptus Mechanicus from Warhammer 40,000.
- The Engineer's theme was almost scrapped from the game for "being too different".[1]
- The Engineer is the only main boss of the The Awakened Invasion that doesn't appear in the event's trailer.
