Description
The Speed Deployer is an enemy encountered in Expert Mode, Nightmare Mode and Ultra Nightmare Mode, debuting on Waves 20 and 24 for the two nightmare modes respectively.
While its health and speed are rather lackluster for its debut, it compensates with its ability to throw a Speed Pad onto the ground, which buffs the movement speed of it as well as other enemies that pass over it, allowing them to more easily breach the defense.
Appearance
The Speed Deployer is a normal-sized humanoid with an orange skin color along with a maroon torso and legs, and wears a black belt as well as a pair of black fingerless gloves and boots.
Its torso is affixed with a black harness composed of 2 intersecting straps, which connect via a large buckle at the front. Moreover, each strap is fitted with a pair of holders on the back, which together hold a Speed Pad in place. Lastly, its face bears an angry expression, with 2 of its teeth missing. Additionally, its right eye has been replaced by a glowing cyan core, which is split by a gray diagonal and housed within a black frame.
As for its Speed Pad, it is a short black square prism with diagonally cut corners, a diamond plated rim, and a cyan light at its top.

Strategies
- Several mid-level early game towers are recommended to deal with it for its debut. Such options include 2-2 Laser Gunners, 3-2 / 2-3 Ghosts, and 2-3 Golden Rangers.
- Towers can be set to Weakest targeting to kill the Speed Deployer before it can deploy its Speed Pad.
- If necessary, freezing and stunning towers can be used to stall the Speed Deployer and the enemies buffed by its Speed Pad.

Trivia
- In a development image showing models of several enemies that would be added with the Expert Mode Rework update, the Speed Deployer and Damage Deployer's respective pads were placed alongside a green pad, which were all placed in front of 3 "Deployer" enemy models. However, the third green "Deployer" would not appear alongside its counterparts in Expert Mode, being cut for unknown reasons.
- If the Speed Deployer is stealthed, the Speed Pad it throws will also be stealthed, though this is purely cosmetic as the Speed Pad is untargetable by default.
