Description
The Machine Gunner is an offensive, land-placed tower, and takes the form of a soldier operating a heavy machine gun.
At base, it has great cost efficiency for the DPS it deals, which is coupled with a high range and firerate. However, this comes with the caveat that its range is restricted to only a 110° sector similar to that of Sentry, though it can work around it using its Redeploy ability. Additionally, as it gets upgraded it gains much more range as well as the ability to pierce several enemies on the top path, or an ability that buffs its DPS and range on the bottom path, though at the cost of it becoming much more inefficient at taking down single targets.
Upgrades
The top path for the Machine Gunner gives it a good DPS cost efficiency and large range as well as a wide range of motion of 220°,
Air Targeting, and
Stun Immunity at the max level. Additionally, it gains a pierce of 4, potentially allowing it to shred through groups of enemies if placed at the end of a straight path, and is overall a highly cost-efficient and consistent damage dealer. However, this path has no stealth detection to speak of, and it is stuck with
Bullet damage, making it limiting in some regards.
The bottom path meanwhile has significantly worse stats on several metrics, having lackluster DPS for its price, merely 1 pierce, and the same range of motion as that of the base level, though it does gain
Laser damage, stealth detection, and massive range. This is all compensated, however, by the Overcharge ability, which temporarily buffs its damage, firerate, and range to extraordinary amounts. This makes it a great and consistent single target DPS option if micro'd consistently and carefully, having superior DPS to even a maxed top path Golden Juggernaut.

Strategies
- The Machine Gunner's top path should generally be placed at the ends of long straight paths to maximize its pierce, and should additionally be set to either First or Last targeting to ensure it stays in line with columns of enemies.
- The Machine Gunner's bottom path should generally be placed far back to maximize the amount of area its limited range can cover.
- In the case that its limited range is a significant issue, the Machine Gunner should be coupled with towers that can reliably catch leaks such as other high range towers or spawners.
- Its Redeploy ability can somewhat offset this, but it should not be too relied upon due to it taking a full 10 seconds as well as it forcing the Machine Gunner to stop firing during its entire duration.
- The Machine Gunner's bottom path can be paired with an X-5 EDJ to reduce the cooldown of its Overcharge ability, helping boost its overall DPS.
- While Machine Gunner gains stealth at bottom path, it is not recommended to use him against stealth enemies, as the stealth enemies will most likely be resistant to Laser type damage
