GDILIVES has a YouTube channel named JOHN ROBLOX, mostly known for making Roblox content, typically videos about Tower Defense X and occasionally another topic. He also owns 3 alternative channels called "okaythisisepic", "GDI" and "TDX". okaythisisepic primarily posted clips or memes from John's main channel, but was abandoned and has been inactive since November 2021. GDI is a semi-active channel that is about Roblox commentary or random stuff John does. The TDX channel was intended for posting TDX news and leaks, but nowadays most TDX discussion is either on GDILIVES' main channel or on the TDX Discord Server under channels such as #tdx-bread and #announcements.

John Smith was born on the 12th of August on 2000 as a Texan with a deadly allergy to peanuts.[2] He enjoyed FPS games and Roblox ever since he was the age of 3.[3] Wanting to find success in creating video games, John made an obby game on Roblox as a start when he was 10 years old, although he didn't make much out of it despite his activity in it.[4] On the 16th of June on 2011, GDILIVES created Tactical Warfare: Hold The Line, although not much is known about it due to a lack of footage online and the game being closed. John also wanted to learn scripting in middle school, but quickly gave up when he realized how complicated it actually is. John created the JOHN ROBLOX channel by the time he was 13, which was under the name SWAGER21 at the time, in which he'd upload a variety of short Roblox videos, most of which were memes. He'd eventually have some focus on games like Polyguns, Jailbreak, and Reason 2 Die: Awakening as he used to be friends with the game's creator at the time until multiple controversies regarding the owner arose years later.[5] During his early years on YouTube, his videos never saw much popularity with little exceptions, but his channel would really start to take off once he started to focus on making Tower Battles videos.

Somewhere in 2022, John Roblox started dating someone who went by R0XAP0X, but the relationship only lasted a few months, because she eventually chose to secretly date her ex-boyfriend, which caused John to break up with her. John even went back to this video that featured her and would change the thumbnail and description. Although John would post a tweet asking people not to harass her, most people did anyways.

During the 2024 Roblox Developer Conference, John and BelowNatural, the owner of Tower Defense Simulator had seemingly turned against each other after John was removed from the Conference for supposedly intimidating and sabotaging Below and his team in front of David Baszucki. However the 2 were on good terms again after a few hours.
