| “ | Welcome to Easy mode commander, prepare your towers. Ranger is a great starter tower; you can win Easy mode with Ranger if you know your stuff. | ” | |
| - Advisor's first line at the start of Easy Mode. |
Description
The Advisor is the first narrator to appear in the game before Dr. Xenon, and is the narrator for five out of the seven main gamemodes of Tower Defense X. He advises and suggests certain actions to help with your attempt at defeating each mode, as he appears in the beginning of each of the Gamemodes and often at the start of waves to give advice or flavor text. The Advisor gives rather basic advice, like telling the player to place/upgrade specific Towers or that they need higher-end towers like the Juggernaut in order to beat certain enemies or modes. He can give some helpful advice, though, as he warns players about dangerous enemies a wave before they spawn, so new players can actually be prepared for them.
On wave 80 of Endless Mode, the Advisor will lose connection due to Calamity's appearance. He is not seen for the rest of the mode, barring his non-canon wave 121 dialogue.
Appearance
The Advisor wears an orange military beret and a paintball mask with a blue visor. He has very thin black eyebrows floating above it. He has a black blazer and a white shirt with a collar. He wears black pants with a white belt, and a grey buckle. He holds a radio to give the player advice on what to do in the game. He has multiple bands around his coat labeled "GDA" it also appears he has short brown hair.
There are two different appearances of him, one of them drawn in a new character art style consistent with other newer characters. The newer version is currently used for every new gamemode (except for Elite Mode) the Advisor appears in and is assumed to be his main appearance.
Lore
Not much is known about the Advisor; all that's really known is that he helps the player out in the game. He appears to be knowledgeable of the GDA's past operations, as he to draw connections between Tower Battles enemies and certain enemies. (e.g. Revived Boss 1 in TDX and Boss1 from TB) In addition, he is also aware of GDA operations that occur around the world, and is knowledgeable of most enemies that attack. He is high ranking among the GDA forces, as General Leah mentions how she is second in command below him. Advisor also controls a spaceship that can go up to 52,000,000 miles per hour as shown in the beginning cutscene of Nightmare mode. However, he appears to have a connection with Dr. Xenon as revealed in the 2024 Xmas Event. Dr. Xenon harbors a hatred for him, as she comments that the Player trusts Advisor so much and institutes he wronged her in some way. While explaining to the Player she revived General Celgar she mentions Advisor and how he did not approve of the project.
In the Secret Wave Cutscene is it revealed he was formerly the superior of Dr. Xenon and Dr. Malory, (as Malory mentions they would need to report the portals findings to him) and had knowledge over the Calamity crystals.
Personality
His personality is still vague. However the cutscenes show him as a strict, no-nonsense type individual. Despite he is shown to be overwhelmed and stressed from his job and the constant wars the GDA fights. in Assault Mode he states how he never gets a break.

Trivia
- By definition, Advisor can be considered the deuteragonist of Tower Defense X.
- However, if it's true that the Advisor is involved in the GDA's shadier aspects, it would make him more antagonistic.
- The Advisor has mentioned that his army has fought specific enemies in the past, such as the Revived Boss 1, implying the game is connected to Tower Battles as some enemies are named after that game's cast and some share resemblance, such as the Multipliers.
- The Advisor supposedly regains connection on Wave 121, but only says "You're not meant to be here." This was originally put in because Wave 121 was intended to be impossible, but it was kept in after the second Endless Mode expansion.
- Note that everything after Wave 80 in Endless mode is non-canon.
- The Advisor bears a resemblance to John, the owner of the game.
- Dr. Xenon and Advisor have mutual hatred for each other, however the reason is unknown.
- Xenon has been showing her side multiple times, such as commenting on how the player trusts Advisor, saying how he refused to let her revive General Celgar, mocking Advisor by labeling him ugly, irritably commenting on how he “spoiled” her surprise, and finally when Dr. Malory pleads with Xenon to ask Advisor for assistance, Xenon snaps and pushes her companion into the abyss.
- Since his new render is used in Expert Mode, it is possibly going to replace the current Advisor in the rest of the main modes.
- Oddly, the new render is not used in the Elite Mode Rework, although this could have been an oversight.
- The Takeover Event is Advisor having a dream, as he states this multiple times.
- Although the Advisor is assumed to be bald, as both his new and old art reflect that, his in-game model indicates he has brown hair.
- Advisor is voiced by Allain Armean.
